Your contempt for the poor is on full display here, Senator.
Why be so cheap? Give everyone $1 million a day, every day, forever. And three soy lattes a day. And a foot massage. We have a magic money tree — we should use it!

Dear Marianne, With all due respect, it seems you are missing Senator Cruz' point. He is lamenting. His sarcasm clouds the point, but he is not showing contempt. He is a very smart man exhibiting impatience with those who do not see what lies at stake. Pray for him.

It’s crazy how we let “public servants” talk to us like this.

Being a member of the poor he is talking about, I can agree that handouts and empty promises are only used to gain votes. Give me a good economy and a job anyday and I will be proud and happy. Promise me the world and not deliver only makes me fall lower.

The “no money for nothing” argument is almost exclusively used against poor people.
Trillions for wars but also economic warfare on the poor
