We’ve been skating on very thin ice in three areas: infectious diseases (obviously), environmental degradation & nuclear catastrophe. Too many have been in denial about all three.
“The danger of a nuclear catastrophe today is equal to the darkest days of the Cold War. And most of the public simply do not understand that reality,” says former Defense Secretary William Perry. to.pbs.org/2DrFLJp

I’ll add cyber/communication attack to that. America can’t even deal with isolation from COVID. Compassion, inclusion, empathy need all be part of school curriculums.

This evening I watched the PBS Frontline piece called Once Upon a Time in Iraq. Told by people who lived through it. The US has so much to atone for, after what we did there. Why even call it a war? It was an invasion followed with no action to rebuild or restore.

People wrongly believe that nuclear war is no longer a threat due to anti-missile technology. Check out some of the nuclear war movies from the 80's for examples of the horror. The Day After Testament On The Beach

Yes! ... as you say ... how did we go from ... "Ban the Bomb" ... to totally forgetting that we even have ... "Nuclear Weapons"... Weapons that could destroy this world and everyone in it ... ten times over!

Hello Marianne, I think you would've made an interesting candidate. I'm interested in how you would go about educating those who don't believe? You always looked great on the debate stage. Thanks for reading. Scott.
