Actor #1: We’ve got to get people back to work. Actor #2: But we can’t do that if their kids are still in school. Actor #3. I have an idea! Tell them it’s necessary for the kids mental health! Actor #2: I don’t know. Some kids might die... Actor #1: Nah, they’ll get over it.

Most importantly, we the People, are in charge; we're paying the cost to be the boss and every gov't official is our employee. We tell them what we intend for them to do. Homeschool 100% of USA students for the entire 2020-2021 school year. Period.

Our employees can take action on our behalf or be fired, by election or recall, whichever works fastest.

We should avoid reductionism. We can't have rational data driven analysis when we resort to moral posturing. I don't have the answers, but "children will die" is not rational analysis. Children will die in shut down too. Crime is up, domestic violence is up, poverty is up.

Kids go back to school Adults go back to work Adult mental health improves. Ergo child mental health improves.
