Americans are now pathologically habituated to asking “Pretty please?” for things that can literally mean the difference between life and death, from a system that’s pathologically habituated to telling them no as often as it says yes. And only the people can change this.
No I didn’t, but I’m playing with you. I’m a writer and I love words. I write for what feels like the creativity of it. I don’t want to trade a beautiful word for something simpler just to “reach more people.” Shakespeare did okay.
