1/Re-opening schools before we have the virus under control is immoral and insane. We’re exposing American families to danger for no other reason than to serve the sacred cow of an economy that doesn’t really work for them anyway. #SupportKidsAndTeachers

2/ I realize many parents need their children to go back to school so that they can get back to work, but that’s due to an economic desperation they shouldn’t be experiencing. Every American should receive $2k/mo. for as long as the pandemic lasts, much like every other democracy

Is a longterm welfare state really warranted for a virus with a more than 99 percent survival rate?

This doesn’t have to be long term, and wouldn’t have been had we done the right thing at the beginning.

Maybe this is a good time to implement UBI? So everyone can benefit whether they’re working or not
What, exactly, should have been done differently at the beginning? I keep hearing this catchphrase but nobody can tell me what should have been done differently. Serious question!
