When pols say schools need to reopen “for the mental health” of our kids their hypocrisy is on full display. If they cared about kids’ mental health they would have done something years ago to diminish anxiety that every child feels with school shootings in the back of their mind

Who is "they"? Blaming other sides is simply playing volley ball with the issues. Keeping us at each other is exactly what allows "them" to not do anything to solve the problems. It only keeps us angry with one another divided into political parties. We need to unite.

Terrible comparison. Not every child goes to school worried about a school shooting. Hopefully every child doesn’t have to go through one. Children need interaction with other children. This is just as important as obtaining a great education

Boy, you really know how to conflate unrelated issues.

And beyond look at the mental health issues Kids place on themselves for divorce imagine the Mental health crisis when kids blame themselves for killing their teacher, parent, grandparent, siblings or their classmates because they too got infected and died

They are saying for kids "mental health", in reality they want schools reopened so they can go to work. Since when are the teachers babysitters? They earned college degrees to educate our children not to provide childcare. Your point is also noted. Safety across the board.

Whatever suits the political agenda of the decision makers—> it’s expedient to ignore the school shootings because the NRA contributes heavily to the GOP; it’s advantageous to get kids back to school so their parents will vote GOP. —> the children are mere pawns and don’t count.

This has to do mainly with white privileged and a complete lack of inclusivity for the black and brown community.
