It’s an obvious question, but why aren’t the mayor of Portland and the governor of Oregon having a high-level televised meeting with social justice and Black leaders, making it a kind of statewide zoom Town Hall? It’s clearly not enough anymore to just say “We need to do better.”

What do the protesters want first of all? Abolishing the police is not going to happen. Why don't they vote for a mayor who would abolish the police. Elections are the best way to achieve their goals.

Amen. Handled stupidly. Media coverage is below the dignity of this country. They never get to the real bottom of everything and leaders as well. Where’s the focus? We should have real-time coverage of everything

The mayor tried to talk to the rioters and it did not go well. These individuals are not protesters. You must only watch CNN

the mayors could’ve been having open forum after open forum where people can air out all their frustrations and experiences and angers. These could be a public record and oppty for us to hear one another (even cops could’ve participated). Liberal mayors are too afraid
