10s of millions suddenly homeless, without enough to eat, no health care. In response, Congress gives tax breaks to the rich, funds record military budget, militarizes police.

They do. They have faith their authoritarian controls will be enough to suppress and destroy a rebellion.

I suspect they do and have already in place a plan to stop the food supply chain of which there are now likely two. One for the serfs and one for the ruling class.

No they do not. The American People are TIRED. Tired of not earning enough for BASIC living expenses. TIRED of not being able to afford to see a doctor. TIRED of our schools falling into decay, tired of men earning BILLIONS while people are starving. We are tired of THEIR ABUSE.

They aren't concerned... smug spoiled and clueless... they have no worries...

It's not, necessarily, a volcano. Here's hoping an alternative wins the day. Mass death without a clear enemy or viable scapegoat will be harder to channel into enough sustained violence to amount to a classic "revolt." (1/x)
