Dostoyevsky is one of my favorites. Introduced my son's to him fairly early. Solzhenitsyn as well.

I would say my favorite is Bulgakov's, The Master and Margarita. “You're not Dostoevsky, ...'Dostoevsky's dead,' said the citizeness, but somehow not very confidently. 'I protest!' Behemoth exclaimed hotly. 'Dostoevsky is immortal!”
