The kind of friction we’re seeing in civilization today isn’t easy to endure but it’s a prerequisite to the leap into a higher order of things. So much coming up to be healed, so many realizations newly seen. One day we’ll look back on all of it as having been worth the struggle.

When I think of a society being “civilized” I think of eliminating war, hunger, and homelessness. I think of a society that puts people first. I don’t believe the USA is civilized — far from it; cutthroat capitalism doesn’t permit it.

Marianne, have you read any books written by Jed McKenna? I don’t know if he is right or not, but his book definitely make you question everything. I think he would call your ideas a bunch of nonsense. Give his book a try just to see the other point of view.
