I so disagree. He does everything possible to keep progressives out of the Senate.

I am no fan of Chuck Schumer. Maybe I’m missing something here but how is he doing everything possible to keep progressives out of the Senate?

He funnels money to their opponents. Check out the Ky race between Booker and McGrath as a prime example.

So let me get this straight, he provides support to his chosen candidate and somehow that is being characterized as funneling money? I mean, don’t progressive candidates support each other as well?

Yes, but I think there’s a big difference between SML funneling large amounts of big donor money to candidates and grass roots organizers bringing huge amounts of small dollar donations. It hinders democracy as it becomes pay to play as opposed to actual public will.

Newsflash...All of these so called nonprofits, think tanks, unions, other interest groups that are going under the guise of do-good are also part of the hinderance. They are also providing substantial financial backing. They are used in lieu of American participation.

They are democratic participation too, and there is no comparison between the money they can raise and the corporate wealth represented by corporate Democrats.

Yes, they are. And groups have a right to exist. But they have become a replacement for the American voice in DC. I don’t agree there’s no comparison with what they can raise - they are part of the shadow government everyone is so angry about.
