By this logic the violence started when the feds arrived
I have a great idea for how the feds can stop the violence in Portland: Leave.

Well actually, it went from “a bit left” to “a lot happening.” So yes.

Fifty something consecutive days of this is not a bit. Attempting to ignite a federal court house is not legal or peaceful or just. Attacking cops with fireworks and ball bearings from sling shots while vandalizing and damaging public, private, and federal property is not just.

I understand the impulse to see federal action, especially in this circumstance, as dangerous or oppressive. But I ask you I’m all seriousness, what would you do to solve the problems in Portland and across this country?

I ask my question because I do not see how allowing protests to regularly turn violent and essentially withholding police from enforcing the law is in any way beneficial to situation, nor how any answer exists besides enforcing rule of law legally.
