We need an entirely new operating system. Every public policy should be based on one principle: how far does it go toward improving someone’s life? Not short-term corporate profit maximization - but the quality of people’s lives. It’s a radical shift to a humanitarian bottom line

Not necesssrily. We need a social conscience and appropriate regulation of capitalism. Plus $ out of politics. The healthiest society has elements of both capitalism and socialism.

That was the New Deal and it worked for some people (excluded many) for awhile but has been demolished by capitalist forces over the past 50 years. Capitalism’s prime operative is profit and expansion, it will fight tooth and nail against reforms to reign it in.
