The very rich in America have gotten so used to receiving more that they can’t imagine receiving less & the poor in America have gotten so used to receiving less that they can’t imagine receiving more. The former commands power while the latter still begs for crumbs. It’s wrong.

I always thought the rich got rich, precisely because they were able to do more, with less.

It won’t be this way for much longer. Every revolution has had one thing in common, an extreme gap wealth equality between rich and poor.

The counter argument would be as long as everyone is happy what's the problem? If poor Americans accept the distributional folk mythology of the rich and suppose their poverty is the result of personal failings alone and hence ethically correct then they're the satisfied poor.

As @ChrisLynnHedges says, the American people are in an abusive relationship with their government. The 2008 housing crisis was no different than a predatory abuser raping a vulnerable, smaller individual, and then blaming the victim for what happened.

I’m still floored that while rich get richer via tax breaks, people like me that get a tiny bonus, have that bonus taxed at 30% because it’s considered supplemental income🤬 So a $250 bonus gets one $175ish🤬. WHOTH came up with this nonsense?!?!

And Trump’s base under a republican President are very happy with the economy, but once there’s a Democrat President, life is unbearable. The truth is, we are getting looted, by both parties. Sure one is worse than the other, but they both allow the inequalities to continue
