The “rich” will most likely use that “subsidy” to make more $ & distribute that $ more cost effectively to those “below”. The “poor” unfortunately will blow the “hand out” on things that do not contribute to improve their situation & actually may send it back to those “above”.

When they receive benefits when need, they’re ‘self-made success’ and see no obligation to taxes - then cut same programs for anyone else because ‘they need to pull up by their own bootstraps’ and ‘govt too big’ 🤬

The *sentiment* is right, but King's *actual* quote is different: "Whenever the government provides opportunities and privileges for white people and rich people they call it ‘subsidies.’ When they do it for Negro and poor people they call it ‘welfare.’"

And the root of the problem is the greed of the "givers", freely subsidizing their priviledged friends while demonizing the poor whose hands are held out but remain empty.

You left out the second sort- "If Dems take money from the poor, they call it theft. If Dems take money from anyone else, they call it fair and just.

Exactly the government talk about using Taxpayers money as if the people that need the funds never paid taxes! It their own money going to relief payments.
