Violence is never a good thing, but protests are often a good thing. Our founders protected the right to protest for good reason. Treating peaceful protesters as though they are rioters undermines a sacred first principle of our freedom. pbs.org/newshour/show/portla…

If 90% of it is peaceful but the other 10% isn’t should the police just let the other 10% destroy anything they want

No. But on the other hand, it's the presence of the feds to begin with that is bringing it all to such a frenzy. Before they got there, the problem was being dissipated. Their presence has CAUSED more violence!

...and if Portland police did need additional help-wouldn’t the national guard be the logical choice?

I live in Seattle they burned a Starbucks yesterday that was attached to an apartment building where People had to get evacuated. they threw bricks at the police, They injured 59 cops yesterday for what? The biggest lie is these protest are peaceful, seeing boarded up buildings

The frenzy was nearly two months old when the feds showed up. If the “protesters” weren’t trying to destroy federal property the feds would have no legal mandate to grab anyone. Problem is, the answer would be for them to only burn down city property. They want destruction.

Damn, i never heard you talking about getting the federal government out of each state. Well, you'll have my vote next time if you do.
Are you being serious right now? This shit was out of control before the feds got there!!! C’mon girl, you really need to stop pushing hatred and divide!!!!
The feds coming in absolutely inflames the situation. But I can’t abide by violence on either side. I’m against it. And I live in the middle of it on Capitol Hill Seattle. It’s not theoretical for me. Just for some context.
