The “violent crime” that federal agents are supposedly arriving to quell has killed a tiny fraction of the people that coronavirus has. Why not attack that instead? Federal agents arriving in these cities is not quelling violence; it is creating it.

If those agents were used to help administer testing or distribute PPE or other needed supplies or equipment, the optics would have been caring for Americans. Rather Trump would rather project “strength”, intolerance and disregard for the rights of Americans.

The riots have persisted for months, people have been maimed and killed, livelihoods destroyed. Is violence acceptable when you find it politically convenient to look away? What are ordinary people to do when no one will defend them from the fevered violence of the anarchic mob?
