I'm probably in the minority of my Twitter following here but I think Schumer would have a very good chance of winning this one. He's not Joe Crowley or Eliot Engel. He can fight a primary.

That might be true, but we need to start thinking about politics in terms of what we want rather than what we think we can have. Schumer is the ultimate architect of the corporate dominance of the Democratic Party and it would take a seriously charismatic progressive to beat him.

NY is a big time Dem machine state despite the new faces we are seeing. Chuck will still have powerful allies to pull it off. But if Biden wins, Dems win Senate & no elimination/reform of filibuster, things will get very bad. A failure of governance will open up a primary a bit.
