I'm probably in the minority of my Twitter following here but I think Schumer would have a very good chance of winning this one. He's not Joe Crowley or Eliot Engel. He can fight a primary.
.@AOC should primary Chuck Schumer in 2022. Pass it on.

Basically AOC would have to win a bloody fight for African-American and Afro-Carribbean voters in Brooklyn and Queens and find a way to compete with Chuck in the suburbs. Far easier fight is Gillibrand in 2024. She could probably force Gillibrand into retirement

You think she couldn’t compete with him for African-Americans and Afro-Caribbeans?? I do. On the issue of the suburbs you could be right. But one of the things I like about her is that she studies and learns and obviously grows as she does her job.

I agree. She doesn’t need it and she probably wouldn’t choose to do it. But I think the conversation is important because it recognizes the need to replace “rotten, centuries old systems.” Democrats need the audacity to make fundamental breaks with the past.

I think she can compete. Being from NYC, I see it as a tall order

She wouldn't win. Don't mistake popularity in her district with popularity in her state.

What job has she done exactly?

Many of the African-Americans and Afro-Carribeans who vote are middle-aged or older and pragmatic. AOC is too radical for them. But why exactly do you think you're qualified to give political advice to anyone?

Maybe you could list AOC's accomplishments. Not what she's given a speech on or talked about, but actual accomplishments.

lotta older voters in those areas. schumer is well known. side benefit of being a media hog for decades

What has AOC accomplished? Besides killing the Green New Deal by introducing it unvetted, so McConnell could seize her mistake& call a Senate vote where EVERY Dem voted "Present". She set us back years! She's an Insta star but other freshmen are doing the real work.
