So when Eisenhower used an executive order to send troops to Little Rock, AR in 1957 to enforce the integration that was overriding the will of democratically elected mayors and governors, undermining democracy itself.

No. Nor was JFK when he sent troops to integrate the U. Of Alabama. But a militarized invasion force into multiple US cities? To do what exactly? How is that going to fight crime? How does it not only increase violence?

You do realize you summed up today is political and social environment in a nutshell… If I agree with something it is good if I disagree with something it is bad. Feds intervening only upends democracy when you disagree with it.
