2/ Historians will analyze for much longer than any of us will be on this earth exactly what happened, how the experiment failed, how it came to be that we lost our spark, succumbed to our worst impulses and allowed our government to turn against its people.

Much of the founding principles of this country was modeled after French Republicanism which was all the vogue in the late 18th/early 19th century.

Why do people make such a big deal about changing the constitution? It was a group of men, ordinary men, who wrote a contract. Thomas Jefferson would be super surprised after 400 years The People haven’t matured past its original needs. Words are not what binds America together.

Folks forget the "of & by the people" part & just skip to the "for" part, as in, "What are you going to do for me?" There's an obligation here. Americans NEVER lived up to their end. We were supposed to evolve & advance & be better people. The govt would, then, reflect it
