This is due to the fact that the republican constituency is highly evangelical and the GOP knows how to pander to them with propaganda and fear mongering. The Democratic Party is ultimately a do-nothing party, yet they still pander, too.

I don’t believe in political parties. They invariably induce wavering your values in order to stay cohesive. I think all people should remain true to their beliefs. Run on who you are period.

It’s not “odd” when you follow the money. If Dems embraced left populism they’d immediately run afoul of their donors, that’s why they don’t.

I wonder if it is because most centrist/corporate dems over the last 50 years at least have focused their efforts on helping people at telling them what to do instead of empowering them to make their own decisions and giving them the means to make it possible.
