You put a federal cop on every other street corner in the west and south side. You arrest the felons on federal gun chargers, and get get them off the street.

Portland has different problems than Chicago, comparing the two isn’t really fair. But Portland did have 54 straight days of violent protest its time someone did something, it was clear the mayor or governor were not going to stop it.

Exactly. When you overcontrol any population -from teens in schools to minority neighborhoods to small street food cart vendors- you create a situation where if they're treated badly ANYWAY, they decide they may as well DO the thing they're punished for regardless of innocence

It's also guaranteed to make them hate you and search for ways to spite you and subvert your control.
In other words, you create the very condition you *say* you're trying to prevent.

Where are you from, I doubt it’s Chicago, Baltimore, St. Louis or Detroit. I am not talking about arresting them for speeding or for weed, I am talking about arresting already felons for position of a firearm a federal offense.

And how will they know who those people are? How will they be more effective at that than the local police? Is that what you think they're doing in Portland?

Portland and Chicago have almost nothing in common, first off Portland is the Whitest major city in America. I believe Portland is a pretty rich place. Chicago actually has a poverty problem, people have trouble finding good jobs, it’s a really diverse city.
