1/ One of the mistakes on the Left is that we’ve allowed others to control the narrative, largely by surrendering the use of basic words like patriotism, tyranny, freedom & morality. We tell the facts, or explain our experience, often without framing them enough.

So let’s be clear: 1) We’re standing up to the police invasion of American cities because it’s TYRANNY. 2) We’re doing so because we’re PATRIOTIC. 3) We’re doing so because we LOVE OUR FREEDOM and 4) To do nothing in the face of injustice is IMMORAL.

Yes!! Americans love their country. They believe in freedom. But we are tired of the lies, victimhood, and propaganda that links patriotism to loyalty, tyranny to public health, and freedom to order and control.

I don't think it's actually true that the left doesn't do this. Everyone in the dem primary tried to wrap themselves in the flag. You could argue Tulsi did this the most and she lost one of the worst. Bernie reframes the conversation on abortion like this, and he invoked FDR.

What I’ve witnessed is folks trying to control others narriatives instead of telling their own. Also, anger is a useful emotion, but it must be processed through instead of suppressed or weaponized.
