/ We went from "Hopefully he won't be as bad as we fear" to "Wow he's even worse than we feared" to "Thankfully our institutions will hold" (remember the old days when we thought Mueller was going to save us?) to "Oh my God our institutions aren't holding".....to where we now.

/ What’s happening is a shock to our system beyond what most of us can fully integrate. Even those who knew we were in deep trouble as soon as he said he could murder someone on 5th Avenue and it wouldn't make a difference, didn't think it would rally get this bad this fast.

/ But it has. The question now is how we respond to such a dangerous moment. We thought we had a double whammy on our hands: Covid-19 and an economic disaster. It turns out we have a triple whammy. The legs of our democracy are wobbling.

/ Realizing how bad it is, is something we must do. Not to be overwhelmed by fury or depression or anxiety, but so we can really, deeply take in the meaning of this moment. No generation of Americans has ever been faced with a greater risk. As great? Yes. But never greater.

/ What’s important to remember is that they in their times rose to the occasion & so will we. Fast, pray, meditate, read up on American history, follow what’s going on, don't look away, volunteer to help candidates (progressivecandidatesummit.c…), support the ACLU etc. We can do this

/ All of those things foster strength right now. These are turbulent waters but we can navigate them. They're rough now & they might get rougher. But on the other side of this storm its going to be seriously wonderful. He will not destroy this country. I can feel it in my bones.

Wobbling? We are a failed state.
