tonight at a Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee fundraiser, Obama said he's worried young activists have lost faith in voting and politics because of progress that has been made -- but that John Lewis is an example of why elected politics is important

I see it differently. I think they lost faith because even when we had a Democratic president for 8 years wealth inequality kept getting worse, a bailout during the economic crisis went mainly to corporations, and the corporatist mythos continued to prevail.

Yes, Marianne. You are 100% on this.
I get pple hate Trump. 2 blame him 4 everything is unfair. Obama/Biden had 8yrs and did nothing. Our country's problems did not just happen in the last 3 yrs. When u always just say trumps fault, nothing will change and get better. #DoSomething

Hey you guys remember when progressives held their noses and voted for HRC in far greater numbers than her people voted Obama b/c Dems said "that's how to get a seat at the table", but then the party spent 4 years demonizing us for NOT voting HRC and discards our priorities?

And Dem establishment treats poor people with disdain. A perfect example is this appearance by Alexandra Pelosi on Bill Maher. youtube.com/watch?v=8fEW8R…

And then they rigged an entire primary for a man with obvious dementia, because he promised billionaires that nothing would change. And you’re still willing to vote for Joe. We don’t get anywhere voting for our oppressors.
