I will vote for Joe Biden and I want desperately for him to win. But for establishment Democrats to talk as though that will fix everything or as though Dems haven’t enabled the emergence of this horrifying authoritarian wave, will neither solve the problem nor even help him win.

One could just as easily blame populists for fueling profound distrust of all government and our institutions. However, I won't blame populists because I think we should credit people with agency in voting. Maybe it would help you if you did the same?
