2/ If we actually think American children are so abused, so mentally or physically endangered at home as to make it worth the catastrophic risk of re-opening schools too soon, then shouldn’t that itself be seen as a humanitarian emergency?

3/ There are so many millions of chronically traumatized children in America that they're literally at risk just being home. But instead of an all-out effort to ameliorate those conditions, we use it as an excuse to endanger them further by unsafely sending them back to school.

Correct. Under normal conditions we send those students home to the same dysfunction every day, every weekend, every break. We should be able to protect our students better in the first place.

I mean, yes. Absolutely. Waaaaaaay too many kids are being raised by people who are not emotionally ready to have children and, one way or another, abuse or otherwise traumatize their kids as a result, and that absolutely is an emergency.

The other countries that did it have COVID-19 under control, and are taking precautionary measures protecting children in the classroom. The Trump administration will not allow that to occur.
