4/ The fear that they will be left behind is now exploited, of course, by a master manipulator who understands their fear because he feels so much of it himself. Being destructive, he fears destruction because he subconsciously feels that he deserves it.

What I do not get about the cultural defenders, their ancestors came to a land that was occupied, brought over blacks as slaves, conquered lands with Latinos, put up a statue welcoming the world's poor, huddled masses and then feel threatened by . . . I just can not fathom . . .
