When all this is over, we need to pass a law that every state require at least half a year’s civics education in middle school or high school on the basics of the US Constitution. It’s terrifying how many Americans seem not to have a clue.

In TN that was required, but it doesn’t seem to have helped any. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I personally think civics should be part of every school year, especially hands on civic engagement.

NO ANYONE ASPIRING TO RUN FOR OFFICE SHOULD HAVE TO TAKE AND PASS A STANDARD SAT TEST ESPECIALLY WITH ON SOCIAL STUDIES LIKE CIVICS, HISTORY AND GEOGRAPHY. AND THEY MUST PROVE THAT THEY CAN READ. BECAUSE #trumpcantread

At least half the people who took middle school civics with me are saying the media is out to get Trump and the coronavirus is a hoax.

TV is brainwashing and dumbing down the population. Which is a real tragedy and shame since it could be used to inform, inspire and uplift the nation.

Amen sister. I had civics in high school and it was the bedrock for my understanding of the dangerous effects of Trump and his cronies.

The stripping of these classes from American education has been a gateway to where we are now.
