When all this is over, we need to pass a law that every state require at least half a year’s civics education in middle school or high school on the basics of the US Constitution. It’s terrifying how many Americans seem not to have a clue.

Weren’t we all required to do this? I did, had to take an entrance exam to high school which was all civics, had to memorize the preamble of the constitution and the Declaration of Independence.

I believe we should use this education disruption (because no one is going back to school in Sept) as an opportunity. New courses that are not outdated - ethics, decision making, emotional intelligence, social intelligence, financial education and kindness. Use experts to teach

Thats the first thing school boards cut 40-50 yrs ago (Then art & music) Home schooling & charter schools left a few rudiments out too Now USA reaps what it didnt sow-- coupla generations missed history & civics Now? Everyone self-taught by internet #netneutrality matters

My mom and Dad are always amazed by how little people know how government works. They entirely blame the removal of civics from High school for this. Full support! /o/
