We care a lot when we see one child suffer. But there's a weird cognitive dissonance when it comes to millions of them. It becomes blurred, as though the sheer magnitude of the problem makes it seem less rather than more urgent and ourselves powerless instead of empowered to fix.

The human nervous system can cognitively manage 5-9 things at once, 7+/-2. Dont be stupidly asking the capacity for compassion to grow beyond its neurological ability. People respond to policy more than they respond to potential.

Right now many children in Iran are in urgent need of special diseases drugs but some how they'd been born in a country that happens to be US's enemy.
