If someone like @bariweiss feels like she can’t do her best work at the @nytimes they should make some real changes over there.

I agree with Andrew about this. Principled voices shouldn’t be suppressed in this country, regardless whether or not we always agree with them. In her resignation letter, @bariweiss tells some uncomfortable but important truths that most all of us need to hear.

I like Omar; the comment I had a problem with she herself apologized for. I absolutely think she’s principled! I don’t feel the same way about Cotton. I don’t usually agree with Bari Weiss but the idea that people should shut up just because we don’t agree with them is terrible.

bari should have the right to say whatever she wants, she just should not be paid for it

Uhm, who shut her up? She voluntarily resigned, likely to start a new startup business.

But dont you realize she is just writing a right wing love letter and was only criticized for writing shitty articles and trying to get people fired for having the audacity to speak in favor of palestinians?

Marianne, this is so darn dishonest! Bari Weiss has secure First Amendment rights. She's got her own website, her own social media accounts, and the ability to get on Fox News, Newsmax, OANN and right wing radio stations any time. She will gain a new job in media as well.

The idea that people should shelter their thoughts are what make people radical. I think that’s the sad part I wish more people would understand that.
She had a snit and quit after her colleagues called her out. She wasn't cancelled.

Kristof has said some things I don’t agree with, but I can’t deny he says some intelligent fabulous things too. I feel that way about a lot of people. Some things I agree with, some things I don’t (you & I are that way, Jesse!) Cotton however comes from a place I rarely respect.
