The weird thing is that people speak of children as if they are a class of humans with that kind of status permanently. American culture is oddly anti-child. Childhood is a stage of life. Your welfare is wholly dependent on others.

Generation IV Nuclear Reactors can make that happen in ten years. Along the way there are ample jobs in clean industry, waste cleanup, even the abundant sensible deployment of solar technologies to increase clean electricity to the world without stressing the environment.
