When STEM ed became the rage, science & math- then standardized tests- got the focus to the detriment of art, history, civics. It's had a devastating effect; if you don't learn about the Bill of Rights as a child, you don't know to be horrified as an adult when it's under assault

I really appreciate your anti tyranny stances. I just disagree on the path/solution to reducing govt power as I don't think either side should have it I still respect you immensely for it and agree on the base problem. Thank you for being a voice against it

Thank you for making this point. It is not a secret. Aristotle, Jefferson, Roosevelt & many others stated it. Civic education is key to a functioning democracy. The political crisis is also a crisis of civic education and participation.

US History as taught in high school now starts at Reconstruction. Revolutionary War to Civil War history is taught in 7th or 8th grade. High school students need to be reminded of the Bill of Rights.

I’ve just had it. We need a Secretary of Education that’s going to work with teachers, states, and districts to develop reopening plans that actually work and are based in science. We need to get rid of Betsy DeVos.
