When STEM ed became the rage, science & math- then standardized tests- got the focus to the detriment of art, history, civics. It's had a devastating effect; if you don't learn about the Bill of Rights as a child, you don't know to be horrified as an adult when it's under assault

Some schools are treating Civics as an elective or doing away with it all together. Well informed citizens help create a more effecient government!

11 states don't require even half a year of history or civics! No better way to control people than to fail to teach them their rights.

Yes ... It works backwards ... If you teach to the test ... Then the writer of the Test gets to dictate what's taught in our schools ... Isn't that interesting!

You’re close, but science got left out too since it wasn’t tested. Math, English, and reading got pushed because they were. Kids got taken out of SS and science to get double doses of those classes. This one size fits all, socialist structure is a massive failure.
