1/ To those who think a response to the corporate Dems' dominance of the system, the party duopoly etc is to sit out the election or vote third party, I'd like to give my thoughts: 1) You'll teach them nothing by not voting. It didn't teach them anything in '16 & it won't in '20.

2/ The way to respond is to beat them at the ballot box. Unglamourous, nitty gritty campaign work.Yet is was rigged at the presidential level, but w/ down-ballots we've had plenty of opportunity already & progressives haven't always shown up the way we might: Romanoff in CO etc.

3/ If we really want political power, then we have to be involved in politics - not just comment on its injustices from someplace above it all. Yes, it's dirty. That just means we have to get dirt under our fingernails & help the candidates who would fix it if they were in there.

Good policies have never been gained through a lesser of two evil vote but through movement outside of electoral politics... the politicians don't enact what the people want because you voted them in, but because they're terrified you'll burn down society with them still inside.

Not true. It STARTS on the outside, but then has to move inside. Abolition, Women's Suffrage, Civil Rights are all examples.

Maine's election day is TOMORROW! Remember as you head to the polls that @BetsySweetME can send Susan Collins packing AND push for progressive policies like the Green New Deal and Medicare for All. bangordailynews.com/2020/07/…

What if I trust my self to fix it over every candidate. I’m not running at this point but I think all candidates with strong fundraising are corrupt. I’m only one vote. How does the candidate with no money but no corruption get elected over the systemic money candidate?

Nope, you are telling us to vote to continue perpetuating the same old same thing

Agreed. Either we need to be elected or work closely with elected officials. This is my recent realization. If you have an opportunity where I can keep my IT job and yet be part of policy discussion (unpaid but serious), please count me in.

If you want to win ... you need to play the game!

Thank you!!! I keep trying to tell young people to get in and get dirty if you want change. THEY are the change but, not if they aren’t in it!!

Biden & his potential cabinet would not fix "it" if they were in there. They would just manage a slower & slicker degradation of moral national character than does Trump & his cabinet.
