1/ To those who think a response to the corporate Dems' dominance of the system, the party duopoly etc is to sit out the election or vote third party, I'd like to give my thoughts: 1) You'll teach them nothing by not voting. It didn't teach them anything in '16 & it won't in '20.

2/ The way to respond is to beat them at the ballot box. Unglamourous, nitty gritty campaign work.Yet is was rigged at the presidential level, but w/ down-ballots we've had plenty of opportunity already & progressives haven't always shown up the way we might: Romanoff in CO etc.

3/ If we really want political power, then we have to be involved in politics - not just comment on its injustices from someplace above it all. Yes, it's dirty. That just means we have to get dirt under our fingernails & help the candidates who would fix it if they were in there.

A vote for Biden only furthers the progressive movement. It continues to demonstrate what we need to avoid and overcome whilst also being a lot safer than Trumps rapid continued course of country annihilation and authoritarianism.

You don’t build third parties by voting for them, the work has to be done before the votes. Where are the Libertarian Party, the Green Party, the Socialist Democrats at other times other than elections? Build the work in communities across the US. Grass roots not national stage.

You’re all being righteous about not voting (for the Presidential candidates) or third party voting so you’ve all come to terms with living through Trump for another four years and living with the damage that that WILL do to your country? And to your family, children, friends.

U can support a system & still fight against it.In fact u can fight 2 improve it (as is happening down ballot). We have a 2 party system established we can continue working 2 swap Dems out 4 progressives we don’t need 2 take the eternal road 2 establish 3rd party

I agree with you more and more everyday. Thank you for putting yourself out there and campaigned, I probably wouldn't have ever heard of you.

It didn’t teach the Dems anything because they refuse to listen/learn. I refuse to reward bad behavior. Vote for down ballot progressives sure, but I will not be voting Dem or Rep for president. It hardly matters as this point.

Sorry Marianne I'm not voting for Corp. Democrats. I'd rather have Trump

You're right about one thing. The party will learn zero. And if they win we are all staring down the barrel of min 8, likely 16+ more years of unchecked climate change, mass incarceration, endless genocidal war, income inequality and kleptocracy. So I choose to let them burn.

Can't bring myself to vote for a corrupt warmongering segregationist rapist, but maybe that's just me. youtube.com/watch?v=qxsQ7jJJ…

But that happens in the primary!! Too many people are sitting those out. That's my point. If you're not involved helping progressives in the primaries, then you're only left with corporate Dems to vote for - and the cycle continues.
