2/ Some say it's more dangerous for some kids to be at home, which is unfortunately true. That's why we need a Dept of Children & Youth: to deal with the various traumas of millions of kids. If we just say "Well, they can go to school," what happens to them the rest of the day?

It’s not about that. It’s about coordinating and funding all the experts in childhood needs that are desperately needed in the lives of millions of chronically traumatized children. Our one Dept of Family Services is overwhelmed, undersupported, and inadequate to today’s needs.

Collective abuse & chronic trauma among millions of American children IS a political issue and there is no amount of money too much for us to spend to make sure that our children are safe. Cut needless defence spending, corporate subsidies, tax cuts for the very richest instead.
