1/ There is no way we should open the schools until and unless CDC guidelines are followed. Trump says the guidelines are too "impractical and expensive." If we don't stand up for our children, we're failing a basic test of our own humanity. #CDCguidelines

2/ Some say it's more dangerous for some kids to be at home, which is unfortunately true. That's why we need a Dept of Children & Youth: to deal with the various traumas of millions of kids. If we just say "Well, they can go to school," what happens to them the rest of the day?

I know you aren't a supporter of the current administration, that said he always has an open door & listens... You may see bipartisan action on that if you bring it forward. Depending on the parameters, I would support something & millions of others would as well.

Actually, I could even see him doing that - as a cover for his complete neglect, abuse and exploitation of the rights of children.

An open door equals an opportunity. It wouldn't hurt to try. I try to see positivity even in situations I don't like. I learned that from you 35+ years ago.

I hope, in any case that you move forward with your ideas. The safety of children isn't a partisan issue,it is a Human issue & you are the perfect person to get people to listen.
