1/ From the moment this started, there should have been #DirectCashRelief allowing people to survive comfortably at home. Not corporate bailouts; PEOPLE bailouts! Defense Production Act could have immediately provided for adequate equipment, testing, contact tracing.
90% of the coronavirus debate now is about trying to find ways around the fact that the obvious solution is to pay people to stay home until there's a vaccine.

2/ Tens of thousands of people have died and are dying for no other reason than that we didn’t. If we had, the economy would be opening safely now. We’d be having a sane, meaningful conversation about how to make children safe going back to school. We would not be a broken nation

A combination should've been done. Support people upholding their existence in quarantines. And distribute bailouts for companies to survive and to make sure that furloughs won't be necessary. Prohibit stock buybacks and dividend payouts by law.

Maybe they don't want to people to survive. They certainly don't care

Yes ... if we controlled the White House and the Senate ... perhaps we would have that ... and perhaps not ... A democratic majority won't do it by itself ... that's why we need to elect liberals to both Congress and the Senate ... and of course ... take back the White House!

YES! Sane world would have = global cooperation & transparency = non-emergency flights cancelled, funds to businesses/citizens to keep them afloat in lock-down - to pay rent, living, payroll = Innumerable lives/businesses/economy saved & virus handled. reuters.com/article/us-usa-e…

WashingtonDC seizing private factories? No thanks. Hard pass. Obviously the money printers should be used for the people directly, if they are used at all, which they should not because the economic calamity is much worse as a result.
