Accountability is important. But forgiveness is equally so. Restorative justice honors both.

It's hard to forgive anyone if they are still poisoning the world. Thinking of the farmers who are still spraying Dicamba, Roundup and an assorted chemical cocktail on our food, water, air and soil. It's like a chemical war zone here in the midwest. I'll forgive them it stops

That’s also where the justice system comes in. It’s going to be a lot easier to forgive them when we know they’ve been held accountable.

But “restorative justice” requires reflective behavior, which many cannot do. Think Trump and his likely tax fraud.
