1/ A lot of talk about how they want to reopen schools because our children are being mentally harmed by “social isolation.” I guess we should just skip summer vacation from now on then, huh? “Family values” people seem so nervous now about kids spending time with their families!

They want to count the kids and make sure they are all still alive. I would not want to be locked for months in the house I grew up in. Wd have been Hellish.

These are not normal times. How is it that pretty much every country in the world can integrate that into their understanding, but so many of us cannot? (I do understand however that home is not a safe place for every child)

I hear what you are saying. My best answer is Wish Fulfillment Bias. If you wish something, and a voice says that is how it is, you may know it's wrong the first few times, but maybe give in and just Believe soon enough.
