I spoke to the CEO of a large hospital in Florida yesterday who told me the same thing. This is an unmitigated disaster & the message of our govt is “Learn to live with it.” Those hospital personnel are absolute heroes. Even saints. They are literally risking their lives for us.
Texas Doctor: I got 10 calls yesterday for young people who will die if they don’t get ICU support, but I only have three beds left.

Restating - Marianne's point is that increasing more people need urgent care for Covid-19 than hospitals can provide. Understand?

A medical hero is somebody who, if everything goes right, will be ignored and trivialized because nothing bad happened

This is what happened in Italy and Spain at the beginning of the pandemic. The Social Distancing is in place to avoid to put Drs and medical staff in this position to choose one patient over the other. Evidently the message was not understood....

I don’t know what’s worse about your tweet... that the federal govt doesn’t give a shit, or that hospitals have CEOs and are effectively businesses.

#Florida insists on letting #WaltDisneyWorld reopen! With 200,000 cases statewide (10,000 new ones Sunday!) this is the LAST thing they should be doing. Now @cnn reports scientists say #COVIDー19 floats/transmits in the air cnn.com/world/live-news/coro… #Disney this is irresponsible

Don’t saint doctors. Some are good. Some are not. For some, it’s a calling. For some, it’s cash and status.
