What do we want? We want everything. We want a government “of, but and for the people.” We want a government that serves the well-being of its people before the short-term profits of huge multinational corporations. We want liberty and justice for all. We want our democracy back.

Woa. Read a book. Do you think American history just started with us? That these same struggles have not been happening for over 200 years? That no one ever sacrificed for the effort to try to get it right?

Marianne, what is an acceptable number of sacrifices to make before we just drop the pretenses? Just asking for a friend* *every marginalized person forced to live within the US

What do you think the Civil War was? Or the Women’s Suffragette movement was? Or the civil rights movement was? Or the labor movement? Or child labor laws? Or the marriage equality movement was? Do you think all this stuff just started with us? Or that others made no strides??

I’m not saying for a moment that it started with “us” because there is no “us.” You and I are not the same. And these movements that your spouting off...do you think they were effective simply because the oppressors had a change of heart?
