Why only 10%?
Why do we spend more on the military than the next 11 nations combined? I have a better idea: Cut Pentagon spending by 10% and invest it in the fight to end homelessness, hunger and poverty in the richest country on Earth. nitter.vloup.ch/i/broadcasts/1DX…

In 2018, about $648,800,000,000 were put into defense spending. 10% of that is $6,488,000,000. Still an absurd amount of money, but who knows how much more one could take out with what we’re spending now, let alone what we can do with it?

Great question, Mr. Bernie Sanders!!!! We have the money to put people first in this country, but we put trillions to the “war” department! WHY?!

80% of military budget pays salaries, benefits, etc to soldiers etc; more than 10% means cutting pay. Cut 10% means no new equipment, which is okay for a while but also knocks out R&D, (less good). Before we cut people, think how many POC get their livings in the military.
Wars are one of the main ways for #USA to maintain its world power, and with it the looting of underdeveloped nations. And that guarantees 🇺🇲 a high standard of living. Are 🇺🇲 ready to lower their standard of living and consumption?! Or do 🇺🇲 prefer to keep bleeding others?!

I thought the same, why only 10%?
