Why only 10%?
Why do we spend more on the military than the next 11 nations combined? I have a better idea: Cut Pentagon spending by 10% and invest it in the fight to end homelessness, hunger and poverty in the richest country on Earth. nitter.vloup.ch/i/broadcasts/1DX…

Why? Corporate neolibs won't even go for 10% and YOU KNOW THIS, Marianne.

Who is deciding that 10% is an acceptable outcome? In Toronto, councilors have motion to "defund the police by minimum 10%". Not #DefundThePolice. Mayor @JohnTory still tables the motion, introducing his own with *none* of @BLM_TO demands.
Toronto City Councillors @JoshMatlow and @kristynwongtam make unwelcome additions to the demands of #BlackLivesMatter #DefundThePolice by 100%, not 10%.

Because even so-called moderates could get behind that. You start out by cutting 10%, then you get more aggressive later on, that’s how this stuff works

bernie is bumming me out lately. he wont even call for any spending to be cut from police. guess everybody has blind spots. thats why we should never worship political figures. we stand behind their policies and call out their failures.

@BLeeForCongress was way ahead of him! truthout.org/articles/barbar… Oh BTW, she was the only one to vote against the Iraq/ Afghanistan Wars.

The 2019 Pentagon budget spent $400 billion on salaries and maintenance alone. Another $240 billion went towards Veteran's Affairs. $50 billion went towards MHS. So that gets us to around Bernie's numbers. If we want to lower military budget, we need less veterans (Wars).
