Why only 10%?
Why do we spend more on the military than the next 11 nations combined? I have a better idea: Cut Pentagon spending by 10% and invest it in the fight to end homelessness, hunger and poverty in the richest country on Earth. nitter.vloup.ch/i/broadcasts/1DX…

Changes in allocation of funds have to be done gradually because the military industry employs alot of people.

Go ahead and oppose a further buildup of the defense budget. But don’t pretend it’s the reason we don’t fund other priorities. Like it or not, we can afford guns *and* butter.

You don't want the Military Industrial Complex declaring war on you. This is already pushing it.

Damn, Marianne going further left than Bernie
Because even 10% would be almost impossible already

Because he is wise & seeks achievable goals. Because -10 is better than 0, even better than +10. People who accuse him of being too "establishment-friendly" will never accept anything less than 100% from him. People who think he is "way too left" will always pine for centrism.

If we stop out-sourcing, we could literally half the military budget and still have more money for the actual military. America needs to be sanctioned for war profiteering by the rest of the world. It’s comeuppance time.
What country is he talking about? The US is the poorest country, not the richest!
