The US Constitution enshrines peaceful protest and free elections, to make us a free people and keep us a free people. Today, the president of United States threatens both. It isn’t complicated at this point; the enemy is within.

We're in the middle of a pandemic, the constitution grants exemptions to the permission of protests in such cases. Peaceful protesting is generally permitted, but not *riots, vandalism, violence and destruction of communities* that we've been seeing lately.

No it does not. Peaceful protest is not “generally” permitted. It IS permitted! And while riots and vandalism are unlawful and should not be tolerated, it is complete propaganda that they’ve made up more than a very small portion of what is occurring in this national phenomenon.

Are you insinuating that it's appropriate and defensible to hold protests during a pandemic? State of emergencies can rightfully be declared and restrictions can be made in order to contain this dangerous enemy. It's not sound to encourage gatherings right now, Marianne.
