I’ve felt for a long time there’s a way to handle the confederate statue issue in a positive way.1) Remove the statues and store them in a museum somewhere, & 2) Have local & national contests for contemporary artists to replace them in the places where they once stood. #artheals

Move them to the battlefield parks like Vicksburg or Gettysburg. Where you go to learn about the civil war and learn about them in the right context.

Most confederate statues were made so recently that there's still people alive who remember there being something else there. If you don't already know, you'd be surprised to learn how many were put up just in the 70's and 80's. They're not history. They're racism
